Dr. Ricardo Vinuesa is an Associate Professor at the Department of Engineering Mechanics, KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. He is also Lead Faculty at the KTH Climate Action Centre. He studied Mechanical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain), and he received his PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.

His research combines numerical simulations and data-driven methods to understand, control and predict complex wall-bounded turbulent flows, such as the boundary layers developing around wings and urban environments.

Dr. Vinuesa has received, among others, an ERC Consolidator Grant, the TSFP Kasagi Award, the MST Emerging Leaders Award, the Goran Gustafsson Award for Young Researchers, the IIT Outstanding Young Alumnus Award, the SARES Young Researcher Award and he leads several large Horizon Europe projects. He is also a member of the Young Academy of Science of Spain.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefanie Elgeti is a distinguished professor at the Institute of Lightweight Design and Structural Biomechanics (ILSB) at the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien). With a strong background in computational mechanics and simulation techniques from RWTH Aachen University, she leads pioneering research in shape and topology optimization with applications in ranging from manufacturing to biomedical engineering. Her work emphasizes the development of efficient, environmentally friendly materials and structures through numerical simulations, earning her numerous grants and awards, including significant European funding.

In addition to her research, Prof. Elgeti is committed to education and mentoring, supervising many master's and doctoral students and contributing extensively to international journals and conferences. She actively participates in professional organizations and committees, enhancing the field through conferences, workshops, and collaborative projects. Her contributions have made her a sought-after speaker at international venues, where she shares her advancements in lightweight design and structural biomechanics, pushing the boundaries of engineering research and fostering innovation and sustainability.

Prof. Maria Bruna is a Royal Society University Research Fellow at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, renowned for her pioneering contributions to applied mathematics. Her expertise lies in multiscale modeling and stochastic processes, areas in which she has significantly advanced our understanding of complex systems.

Prof. Bruna completed her undergraduate studies in Industrial Engineering and Mathematics at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. She then pursued an M.Sc. in Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing, followed by a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, both from the University of Oxford.

Her research focuses on developing mathematical models for interacting particle systems with excluded-volume interactions, with applications spanning from biological systems to industrial processes. She has published extensively in high-impact journals and presented her work at numerous international conferences, solidifying her reputation in the field.
As a dedicated mentor, Prof. Bruna has guided many students through their academic journeys, fostering the next generation of mathematicians. Her innovative work has earned her multiple prestigious awards, including the L’Oréal-UNESCO Women in Science Fellowship, a Humboldt Fellowship, and the Whitehead Prize from the London Mathematical Society.
