By plane:

Valencia Airport is located west of the city of Valencia. The airport is directly connected to the city centre by metro. The Valencia Airport has cheap flat rates in comparison with other Spanish airports and a traffic of more than 7.7 millions of passengers each year.

Valencia Airport is located 16 Km (20 minutes) from the city and connected to by metro and bus.

By train:

Valencia is also an important railway link, connected favourably with the rest of Spain and with Europe. Valencia is connected with a high-speed train to Madrid (less than 2 hours) and to Barcelona (less than 3 hours). The city’s major railway stations and metropolitan rail network ensure you can travel anywhere by train without any difficulties.

By road:

The land communications are basically designed on the network of motorways, which radiate towards the most important economic areas of the rest of Spain.
• A7 Motorway, the Mediterranean corridor, connects the most important cities all along the Mediterranean coast with France.
• A3 Motorway connect with in less than 4 hours Valencia and Madrid.

The city has a convenient and efficient public transport network (buses, metro and tram). A transportation card will be delivered in the wellcome pack. This is a combined card that offers free public transport and discounts in Museums, leisure activities, shops and restaurants throughout the duration of the congress.

Metro:
Valencia has nine metro lines that can be identified by the number and colour of the line and serve most of the city.

Bus:
A fleet of over 500 fully adapted buses in 52 bus lines serve all areas of the city. The integrated fare system means that travel cards can be used on bus, metro and trams. Valencia’s buses are 100% accessible for disabled people. This includes all buses running during the day and night buses.

Tram:
Valencia tramway system is known as the Tram. Tram is now an accessible, environmentally friendly, fast and comfortable system. It consists of two lines and it is useful for moving from the University Campus to the beach.

Taxi:
Valencia has a service of 3000 taxis. A green light on top of the taxi indicates its availability. There is also a service of taxis adapted for people with reduced mobility.
Connections between Valencia and the airport:
Two metro lines (L3 and L5) connect the airport with the main parts of the city, like the city centre, the University Campus, the City of the Arts and Sciences and the Mediterranean Sea.
Frequency: every 10 minutes.
Approximate journey time: 25 minutes.
Single ticket price: 2.50€.
Additionally, a 24-hours taxi service is available for the airport. The average price of a ride from the airport to the city centre is 35€.

Some of history

Valencia was founded by Roman settlers in 139 B.C. Its historic center is one of the largest in Spain.

Thanks to its historical and monumental heritage and its diverse scenic and cultural spaces, it is one of the cities with the greatest influx of national and international tourism in the country as a whole. Among its most representative monuments are the Miguelete, the Cathedral, the Torres de Serranos, the Torres de Quart, the Lonja de la Seda (declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1996), and the City of Arts and Sciences, cultural and architectural complex designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela.
