Valencia is the capital of the region with the same name and the third most populous city in Spain, after Madrid and Barcelona. It has an approximate population of 800,000 inhabitants, which amounts to more than 1,500,000 inhabitants if we include its urban area. The city of Valencia is located on the Mediterranean coast of the Iberian Peninsula, on the great alluvial plain of the Júcar and Turia rivers, right in the center of the Gulf of Valencia. Its port occupies the 5th place in container traffic in Europe, and the largest in the Mediterranean Sea.

The city has a convenient and efficient public transport network (buses, metro and tram). A transportation card will be delivered in the wellcome pack. This is a combined card that offers free public transport and discounts in Museums, leisure activities, shops and restaurants throughout the duration of the congress.
Metro:
Valencia has nine metro lines that can be identified by the number and colour of the line and serve most of the city.
Bus:
A fleet of over 500 fully adapted buses in 52 bus lines serve all areas of the city. The integrated fare system means that travel cards can be used on bus, metro and trams. Valencia’s buses are 100% accessible for disabled people. This includes all buses running during the day and night buses.
Tram:
Valencia tramway system is known as the Tram. Tram is now an accessible, environmentally friendly, fast and comfortable system. It consists of two lines and it is useful for moving from the University Campus to the beach.
Taxi:
Valencia has a service of 3000 taxis. A green light on top of the taxi indicates its availability. There is also a service of taxis adapted for people with reduced mobility.
Connections between Valencia and the airport:
Two metro lines (L3 and L5) connect the airport with the main parts of the city, like the city centre, the University Campus, the City of the Arts and Sciences and the Mediterranean Sea.
